Assessment Appeals

An Assessment Appeal is a due process a taxpayer may initiate if the assessed value of his or her property cannot be agreed upon with the County Assessor. If you are not in agreement with the assessed value of your property, you may contact the Assessor’s office to discuss the issue. If an agreement cannot be reached, you have a right to appeal the value (under certain circumstances and limitations). This formal method gives you an opportunity to have your issue heard by an appeals board that is independent and separate from the Assessor’s Office.
